Unofficial,
and proud of it

Last updated: September 2026

Real names, real career facts, zero official branding, and no connection whatsoever to anyone who runs football.

Impossible XI is an unofficial fan project. It is not FIFA, not EA, not UEFA, not a club app, and not connected to any of them in any way.

The short version

This is a free game made by two football fans. It uses real footballers' names, nationalities and club histories because those are public facts and you need them to play. It uses no official logos, crests, kits, anthems, photographs or branding. Nothing here is endorsed by, licensed from, or affiliated with any football organisation.

No affiliation

Impossible XI is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, approved by, or in any way officially connected to FIFA, UEFA, the UEFA Champions League, the Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, the Bundesliga, Ligue 1, any other league or competition, any national football association, any football club, any players' union, or any individual footballer or their representatives.

Any names of competitions, clubs or countries that appear on this site are used only to describe real, factual information about real footballers' careers. They are the trademarks and property of their respective owners.

Why real names are used

The game's entire mechanic is built on factual career data: which country a player represents, and which clubs they have played for. Without those facts there is no puzzle. That information is public, widely published, and used here purely to identify players so that you can recognise who you are selecting.

No attempt is made to suggest that any player endorses, is associated with, or has any involvement in this game.

What is not used

  • No official logos or crests. No club badges, league marks, competition logos or federation emblems.
  • No kits or colours as branding. No replicated official kit designs.
  • No player photographs or likenesses. Players are represented by name and factual attributes only.
  • No anthems, audio or video from official broadcasts.
  • No licensed ratings. Any ratings shown are the game's own numbers, created for internal balance and scoring, and are not sourced from or comparable to any official or commercial rating system.

The competition is fictional

The "European Nights" campaign is a fictional competition. Its format is inspired by the general shape of European club football, but the opponents you face, the fixtures, the results, the standings and the trophy are generated by the game for entertainment. They do not reflect, predict, simulate, or report on any real competition, match or result.

Nothing on this site should be read as a source of football news, official statistics, or match reporting.

Accuracy

Player data is compiled from publicly available sources and is maintained by two people. It will contain errors, gaps and outdated entries, particularly around loans, short spells, youth appearances and recent transfers. The player pool is limited in scope and does not attempt to cover all of football.

No warranty is given as to the accuracy or completeness of any information in the game. If you spot something wrong, tell us and it will be corrected.

No gambling, no real-money element

Impossible XI is a free knowledge game. There is no wagering, no purchase of in-game items, no loot boxes, no prizes with monetary value, and no real-money element of any kind. "Budget" and "ratings" inside the game are scoring devices with no value outside it.

External links and advertising

The site may link to external websites and may display advertising served by third-party networks. Those sites and adverts are not under this project's control, and their appearance does not constitute an endorsement of their content, products or services. How advertising affects data collection is set out in the privacy policy.

Rights holders

This project has been built with care to stay within the use of factual information and to avoid any official branding. If you represent a rights holder and believe something here infringes your rights, please email hello@impossiblexi.com with the specific page or asset, the right you hold, and how to reach you. Genuine concerns will be looked at promptly and, where warranted, the material will be removed.
