1. Introduction

Impossible XI ("we", "us", "the game") is an independent, solo-built fan project. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the site, how it's used, and the choices you have. Playing as a guest means we never collect anything tied to your identity beyond what's described below.

2. Information We Collect

Account information. If you sign in (via Google or email/password), we collect your email address and display name through Firebase Authentication, our authentication provider.

Game data. Squad names, formations, campaign results, ratings, and league membership are stored against your account so your leaderboard entries and private leagues work correctly.

Local device storage. We use your browser's local storage to remember things like your last team name, sound/volume preference, and whether you've seen the tutorial. This stays on your device and isn't sent to us.

Guest play. If you choose "Continue as guest," no email or personal identifier is collected - your session just isn't saved to the leaderboard.

3. Cookies & Similar Technologies

We don't currently use advertising or tracking cookies - only browser local storage for game preferences, as described above.

If advertising (e.g. Google AdSense) is enabled on this site, our ad partners may use cookies to serve relevant ads and measure performance. Where required (for EU/UK visitors), a cookie consent banner will let you accept or decline non-essential cookies before any are set. You can also manage ad personalization directly via Google's Ads Settings.

4. How We Use Your Information

• To save your squad, campaign progress, and Overall Rating to the leaderboard
• To display your team name on public and private league leaderboards
• To let you create, join, and compete in Friends Leagues
• To read and respond to feature suggestions submitted via the in-game wishlist

5. Third-Party Services

Firebase (Google). Handles authentication and stores game data. See Google's Privacy Policy.

Google AdSense. If/when enabled, ads are served by Google, subject to Google's own privacy and data practices.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. Information is only shared with the third-party services above, as necessary to operate the site.

7. Your Choices

• Sign out at any time from the account menu
• Play as a guest to avoid providing an email entirely
• Contact us (below) to request access to, or deletion of, your account data

8. Children's Privacy

Impossible XI is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
